In September 2019 before the pandemic, school children across the country and around the world were striking with school walkouts over climate change. Seattle students joined millions in the international movement from New York City to Australia to Sweden to Germany to Italy to Canada, demanding action to limit the climate disaster. They put a spotlight on expressing their anxiety over the planet’s warming and what that means for their futures.
Our generation are temporary custodians and caretakers, only borrowing the earth that our children will ultimately inherit. It’s not too late for us to act responsibly not only for our sake, but especially for theirs.
