About the Author
Keith Canedo is the second oldest of nine children, raised in a Filipino-American family in southern California. Since his childhood he has always wanted to be a writer but “life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans” and those dreams were put on hold. In 1977 he took a temporary 6 month job in Seattle, fell in love with the Pacific Northwest and never went back to LA. Now retired after a successful 43 year engineering career he is grateful for the opportunities it has provided to travel the world and experience people of different walks and diverse cultures.
Eventually the opportunity for writing presented itself and after 40 years, the flames were rekindled. He is a member of the Western Washington branch of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) and is a GOODREADS and AUSTIN MACAULEY author. He is very passionate about his writing, his two daughters and community service. He gives LIVE musical performances as a member of the Healing Musicians Program at the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance and donates his time at a local neighborhood food bank. But the children and caregivers at Seattle’s Ronald McDonald House also tug at his heart where he has spent years as a volunteer supervisor.
Those special kids and families as well as those he met in his global travels has made him aware of one universal trait everybody shares; the love of a good story, and he prides himself as being a good story teller.
