Saturday, January 14, 2023. Some consider it New York’s signature sandwich, piled high on rye bread and slathered with yellow mustard. Made popular in the late 1800’s when Lithuanian immigrant Sussman Volk began selling pastrami from his butcher shop on the Lower East Side. I’ve devoured this little slice of heaven from the Carnegie Deli on 7th Ave in Midtown to the 3 Girls Bakery at Pike Place Market in Seattle.

My mouth is watering just from writing this so you know how I’ll celebrate today!!
