National Volunteers Week is April 17-23 2022. Take the time to recognize volunteers, their impact of service and their power to tackle society’s greatest challenges. The in-person volunteer rate was down the last couple of years due to pandemic restrictions. However, today we are living in a moment that calls for hope and light and love. As you have witnessed, donations and volunteering rates are on the rise worldwide.
“Volunteers are the only human beings on the face of the earth who reflect this nation’s compassion, unselfish caring, patience, and just plain loving one another.” – Erma Bombeck
“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others” – Mahatma Gandhi
“Unless someone like you cares a whole lot, nothing is going to get better, it’s not.” – Dr. Seuss
“No matter how big and powerful government gets, and the many services it provides, it can never take the place of volunteers.” – Ronald Reagan
“One person can make a difference, and everyone should try.” – John F. Kennedy
“Success isn’t about how much money you make, it’s about the difference you make in people’s lives.” – Michelle Obama
Look around your community, the need for volunteers is great. Schools, food banks, Senior Care facilities, libraries, animal rescue shelters, parks, hospitals, places of worship to name a few. I believe volunteering is a compassionate force that can transform the world.
“Helping others reveals the best version of yourself.”
