“Our house is a very, very, very fine house, with two cats in the yard, life used to be so hard, now everything is easy ’cause of you”

I’m not a stay-at-home mom or dad. I don’t have the stresses that accompany such selfless effort. I’m a stay-at-home-because-of-quarantiner. But this advised isolation has opened my eyes to the feeling our home conveys and placed a spotlight on the kind of life I lead, which I must admit is quite ordinary.

We are Blessed that our cottage, located in a suburb of Seattle is adjacent to a small wooded green forest. Sunrise is welcomed by chirping birds, butterflies and scurrying squirrels. Cool evening serenades are courtesy of a nearby frog pond. And if you listen, you would swear that the distant interstate makes the same sound as the rushing north fork of the majestic Skykomish River.

Being sheltered-in-place not only brought out my homebody inclinations but awakened the interior designer- DIYer in me. Decorating was fun and inexpensive by repurposing items already in our home. It just required a creative vision.
